What materials are used in the construction of the X1 Series canopies?
Our X1 Series models are crafted using high-grade aluminium alloy, specifically type 5052. This material is renowned for its strength, durability and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for harsh work conditions and everyday use. Depending on your needs, you can choose between 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm thicknesses. Additionally, the canopies are available in either a checker plate or a flat plate design. The checker plate offers added grip and durability, while the flat plate provides a sleek, smooth finish. Both options ensure a robust and long-lasting canopy that withstands various environmental conditions. They also maintain their aesthetic appeal and integrity over time.
Can you provide warranty information for the X1 Series canopies?
Chivalry offers a comprehensive 24-month warranty from the date of purchase. This covers all structural and mechanical aspects of the canopy, including locks, gas struts and hinges. It applies to all use levels, whether commercial, private or trade, ensuring broad coverage for various customer needs. However, it's important to note that the warranty does not cover damages from accidents, misuse, natural disasters or severe weather events. Surface damages like scratches or rust are likewise not covered. If there's a defect found within 24 hours of receiving the product, it must be reported immediately to claim the warranty. The warranty becomes void if the product is used for an unintended purpose, altered in any way or if the installation is unsatisfactory. Promotional items are not included under this warranty. In case of defects, Chivalry will first attempt to fix faults before offering a replacement, and if a replacement isn't available, a refund will be issued. The customer is responsible for return freight costs, and any warranty claim found to be illegitimate will incur expenses payable by the customer.
Is the X1 Series canopy compatible with specific UTE models, or is it a universal fit?
The X1 Series canopy offers a versatile, largely universal solution, but it is crucial to choose the right size for your specific UTE model. Our range includes various sizes from 600 litres to 2,400 mm, catering to different UTE dimensions and storage needs. While the canopy is designed to fit a wide range of UTEs, selecting the appropriate size ensures a perfect fit and maximises functionality. Browse our catalogue and note the exact dimensions of the model you're considering, or reach out to us for a consultation.
What maintenance is required to keep my UTE canopy in top condition?
To maintain your canopy in prime condition, regular cleaning and inspections are essential. For cleaning, use mild soap and water, and avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the aluminium surface. Regularly check and tighten any loose fittings or fixtures to ensure structural integrity. Inspect the locks, hinges and gas struts periodically for any signs of wear and lubricate them as necessary to ensure smooth operation. Also, it's important to check for any dents or damages, especially after heavy use or exposure to harsh weather conditions. Promptly addressing any minor issues can prevent more significant problems in the future.
Why should I buy from Chivalry?
We do not sell the cheapest products but strive to give the best value for your money. Please compare our products with others and make wise decision, using the insides I shared from the other FAQ "What should I look for when buying alloy Canopy/Tray/Toolbox?"
What should I look for when buying alloy Canopy/Tray/Toolbox?
Others may not tell you (at least not promptly), but here they are: 1, Workmanship. We strongly recommend you to come to stores and look by your own eyes. Make sure the products have good welding, look sturdy and neat. For example, check if a door is whobbling by twisting it, or check it's bended with straight edges etc. 2, Thickness of the alloy Plates. This matters a lot! Some sellers do "overstate" about It so measure it yourself. 3, Materials Used. Aluminium is different to Aluminium, and you can not tell unless you are a specialist.
Aluminum 1060 vs 5052 – What are the differences between aluminium types, and what does Chivalry use?
An overview of the different alumium (or rather "alloy") series (or "Grade") is listed below: 1000 series: the purest commercial aluminium grades, containing at least 99% pure aluminium. "1060" is the most common. we wouldn't even call it "alloy" and yet lots of our competetiors do use it and you don't know if not asking, and hard to tell with bare eyes esp. under powder coated surface! 2000 series: alloyed with copper for increased strength, and is often used for aircraft and aerospace industries. 3000 series: these alloys contain manganese, and are often used for chemical and food equipment, and buildings. 4000 series: these alloys are wrought with silicon, lowering their melting point. 5000 series: is what Chivalry use across all our products!. known as ‘marine grade’ aluminium, is alloyed with magnesium, corrosion resistant but non-heat treatable, hence it is widely used in fabrication such as transportation, tanks, vessels and bridges. "5052" is the most common. 6000/7000 series: less common and used in special applications such as aircraft and aerospace.
